Yonah’s Journal

SKU: BKTAN24-EZ901

Immerse your students in the story of Yonah with this fully illustrated, creatively written book that tells this well-known story from Yonah’s perspective. The text of Yonah’s Journal is based on authoritative midrashic sources and the invaluable insights of the classic mefarshim. This personalized perspective will help students reflect on Yonah’s journey and how it parallels their own journeys through life.

Below is the haskomoh of Rabbi Ephraim Friedman, Dayan of the Zichron Michel Kollel of North Miami Beach:

The basic story of Yonah is familiar to many from a young age. However, as with all sifrei Tanach, there is a lot of depth and detail “behind the scenes” which Chazal and the gedolei hameforshim (the great commentators) discuss in their writings. The greatest Torah scholars can spend countless hours delving into understanding the true meaning of the pesukim and the lessons which we are meant to learn from Yonah and from his life.

Rabbi Yaakov Pole of Walder Education has done a great service by presenting to a young audience Sefer Yonah in a manner which reflects the insights and teachings of Chazal and other great meforshim at the same time as it keeps the young learner fascinated. The precise sources cited will enable even the not-so-young learner to gain from this valuable work.

The great talent of the illustrator Ephraim Zimmerman which is evident in the beautiful illustrations which adorn the entire work add greatly to its appeal.

I wish them both much success in both this and future projects.
