Quilled Shanah Tova Card
Quilling, or paper filigree, is the art of rolling and gluing thin strips of paper into different shapes to create decorative designs. These beautiful three-dimensional embellishments can then be used to decorate anything, including this Rosh Hashanah card with a quilled pomegranate. While the technique for quilling is very simple, the design element can be complex. This makes it an ideal craft for a variety of grade levels, as it can be as intricate or as basic as required.

Goals

Materials
- Strips of paper (⅛ or ¼ inches wide) of varying colors (available pre-cut in craft stores or you can cut your own using a paper shredder)
- Slotted Quilling Tool (if not available one can be made with a bamboo skewer or chopstick with a slit cut into the center of one end)
- (1)11”x17” Solid cardstock
- (4) 2.5”x3” Patterned cardstock
- Scoring tool or dried up pen
- Tacky Glue
- Toothpick
- Scissors
