Homemade Scratch-off Tzedakah Box
Create this beautiful tzedakah box while teaching your students the deeper meaning of the mitzvah of tzedakah. Just as Hashem gives us what we need, we learn to give to others through the mitzvah of tzedakah. Students will learn to value their own roles as givers within the community, and also recognize that the act of giving doesn’t just help others—it lifts them up as well.

- 8.5” x 11” White cardstock
- Pen
- Ruler
- Scissors
- Tacky glue
- Crayons
- Black tempera paint
- Paint brush
- Dishwashing soap (we used a few drops)
- Double sided Scotch Tape
- Iridescent gems
- Toothpick
- X-Acto knife (teacher use only)
- Working surface (e. g. construction paper)
