This sensory activity is a fun way to engage children in learning and reviewing their counting skills. It employs several components. It reinforces the knowledge of, and familiarity with many important Yom Tov symbols. It also provides students with an enjoyable matching and counting activity.

Goals
| Goals and Objectives: | Students will sift through the sensory material to find the correct count of each Yom Tov symbol. They will then match the pictures to the ones on the mat and count as they place each picture. |

Materials
- Yom Tov Counting mat (included)
- Yom Tov Symbol Pictures (included)
- 8.5’’x11’’ adhesive foam paper
- Plastic bin with lid
- Sensory material such as colored rice/sand/beans/popcorn kernels etc.
- Optional: children’s tweezers, scoopers, or other instrument can be used to take pictures out of the sensory bin.
