Use this versatile basketball-themed gematria activity together with our basketball print, script, or Rashi letter recognition centers to introduce or review gematria. Students can match cut-out basketball shapes labeled with Hebrew letters to their corresponding numerical value on the gematria mat. Alternatively, cut out the numbered basketballs and have students match them to the Hebrew letters on a print, script, or Rashi letter mat.
Alternate version: Attach small magnets to each cut-out basketball letter and place the mat into a metal cookie sheet.
