In Parashas Behaalosecha, the Torah describes how the Kohein Gadol was required to light the menorah until the flames rose by themselves. Speaking of rising flames, this experiment proves that hot air is less dense than cold air. The hot air will rise, bringing our flame up with it!
The students will prove through this experiment that hot air rises because it is less dense than cold air. The students will relate this to the flames which rose up from the menorah.
