Ad D’Lo Yada

SKU: PSPUR24-AK002

Use this poster to spark discussion about the concept of עד דלא ידע, which means until one doesn’t know. These well-known words of Chazal refer to the requirement on Purim to reach a state in which one does not know the difference between “Blessed is Mordechai” and “Cursed is Haman.” This poster visually reinforces this idea by picturing two similar yet distinctly different triangles sitting side by side: a hamantashen, representing Mordechai, and a three-cornered hat, representing Haman, who is often depicted wearing such a hat.

Have students discuss the meaning of Chazal’s requirement and its spiritual aspects. The poster can also be used as a springboard for important conversations about the appropriate ways to celebrate Purim and safely experience the holiday’s unique joyous mood.
