This Pirkei Avos Negative Space Paint Art represents the Mishna in Pirkei Avos 2:13 that teaches, “having a good heart includes a good eye, a good friend, a good neighbor and one who considers the outcome of his deeds”. This project will introduce students to the concept of negative space in art, the idea that they can create something by decorating the outside borders and leaving the center untouched. The teacher can apply this concept to teach that by carefully decorating the outside, we can attribute the true beauty of what is within.
