Generate Adar excitement by posting this optical challenge in the hallway on Rosh Chodesh Adar. Hang the instructions next to the banner and have students find the hidden message. Give students enough time to find the hidden phrase, “Hester Panim” (הסתר פנים) – Hashem hiding his face from us. Then, ask your students what the phrase means. Lead students to verbalize that Hashem’s presence is always with us throughout the year even if He seems hidden, and have students connect this concept to Purim and their lives. Shortly before Purim, hang up the answer key to help students clearly see the hidden phrase.
