Reports to: Editorial Department Head
Salary: $57,000-$67,000/yr

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

This role is responsible to review and edit educational resource content and internal/external communications for grammar, spelling, syntax, and word choice/tone.

JOB DUTIES

      • Ensure the following editorial standards:
        1. Written text is well organized, grammatically correct, easy to read and understand, appropriately formatted.
        2. Word choice, tone, and sentence structure suit content, age/grade level, and target audience.
        3. Typeface of text is clear, legible, suitably spaced, and age/grade-level appropriate.
        4. All terms, names, and titles are standardized with regard to spelling and capitalization (in accordance with the Walder Education style sheet).
        5. All text is free of technical errors (typos, unclear antecedents, awkward but grammatically correct structure).
      • Establish high-quality editorial standards and ensure all Walder Education website content, digital media, publications, curriculum, classroom materials, creative studio output, special projects, and professional business communications meet or exceed those standards
      • Define, sustain, and disseminate organizational content elements – style, design and tone – supporting Walder Education brand and marketing strategy
      • Fact-check content for accuracy and citations
      • Support research, writing, and editing for special projects
      • Assist department head with the creation and maintenance of the style guide specific to Walder Education
      • Ensure accuracy and integrity of all Walder Education content
      • Review and edit Walder Education blogs
      • Write, review, and edit internal business communications and updates
      • Write, review, and edit external business communications to the public
      • Consult and collaborate with all Walder Education departments regarding ongoing projects and events

    QUALIFICATIONS

        • Bachelor degree or equivalent education and experience
        • Exceptional writing and research skills
        • Possess comprehensive knowledge of editorial techniques and skills
        • Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail
        • Ability to navigate shifting priorities and deadlines
        • Project management and teamwork skills
        • Microsoft Office Suite expertise
        • Google Workspace expertise
        • Website SEO knowledge preferred
        • Proficiency in digital communication and media
        • Strong Judaic knowledge
        • Proficient in Hebrew language
