Goals and Objectives: The students will count out the correct number of sandpaper circle markers to match the number designated. The students will learn that a number symbol represents an amount and they will learn each number symbol 0 through 10 and be able to count each amount, 1 through 10.
Skills Needed: Pincer grasp.
Skills Developed: Students will strengthen their pre-math, counting skills, one-on-one correspondence, pincer grasp, tactile discrimination, and conservation skills.
 
Materials
  • (11) 4” Plywood Squares (1/8” thick) (We got ours from Woodworks Ltd.)
  • 1 package red 60 grit course sandpaper
  • 2 “ number die cuts, or number templates, included
  • 1” circle die cut, or template, included
  • Tacky Glue
  • Adhesive foam paper
